MESH Electrical Pty Ltd (ABN 73 657 054 290, electrical contractor licence PGE336969) (“MESH”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to quote, carry out and certify electrical work, and to run our business:
- names, phone numbers, email and postal addresses of customers, builders and site contacts
- the address of the property where we work, access details and job notes
- photos, plans, test results and compliance records for the work we do
- quotes, invoices and payment status
- details you send through our website forms, such as the solar and battery quote form
We collect this from you directly, from your builder or project manager when they book work on your behalf, and from emails and documents sent to us about your job.
How we use it
- to quote, schedule and carry out work, and to keep you updated
- to issue invoices and keep accounting records
- to lodge Certificates of Compliance and other records required by the Office of the Technical Regulator, SA Power Networks and other authorities
- to meet our safety, licensing, tax and insurance obligations
- to answer your enquiries
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use it for marketing by anyone else.
Who we share it with
We share information only when it’s needed for your job or required by law, with:
- government and regulatory bodies, such as the Office of the Technical Regulator, and your electricity network operator
- your builder or project manager, for work they have engaged us for
- the business software we use to run MESH, including job management (ServiceM8), accounting (QuickBooks Online), email and file storage (Microsoft 365) and our website host (Netlify). These providers store data on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms. Some may store data outside Australia.
Our internal tools and the QuickBooks connection
MESH uses its own internal tools to connect our job management and accounting systems, for example to prepare job records from our quotes or to create invoices for completed jobs. These tools are used only by MESH staff, only access MESH’s own accounts, and only use the data for the purposes listed above. Access can be removed at any time by disconnecting the app in QuickBooks Online.
Keeping it secure
We keep information in password-protected business systems that only MESH staff can access, and we limit access to what each person needs for their work. We keep compliance and tax records for as long as the law requires, and delete or de-identify information we no longer need.
Our website
Our website doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies. When you submit a form, the details are emailed to us so we can respond. Our host may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security.
